The July 26 edition of Government Computer News includes the following article highlighting the results of Oracle Utilities' "From Overload to Impact: An Industry Scorecard on Big Data Business Challenges" report. The article notes that 93 percent of the public sector executives surveyed say they are collecting and managing more business information today than two years ago. The article also notes that the public sector organizations say they lost on average 11 percent of their annual budget, or $60.5 million, as a result of not being able to fully leverage the information they collected.
Article highlighting a press release announcing that the Fayetteville Public Works Commission (FPWC) selected Oracle and Infosys Technologies to help support FPWC's smart grid initiatives. The article notes that after the implementation of the Oracle applications, FPWC will have a more a complete view of customer data, helping to streamline billing processes and enable more responsive customer service.
